World Bio Markets 2020 rescheduled for November.

Due to growing concerns around the coronavirus (COVID-19) Bio Market Insights, organiser of World Bio Markets, the world’s leading bio-economy event, is today announcing that World Bio Markets 2020 will be rescheduled from the current dates of 23 – 25 March 2020, to new dates in November 2020 in Amsterdam.

The well-being of our speakers, sponsors, attendees and staff is our primary concern. Having undertaken a consultation with our partners and speakers, it became clear that there was a unified desire for a positive event reflecting the growth of our industry and not one clouded by health risks.

There are concerns that travel issues may impact the high-level speakers and strong attendance levels the event delivers to our community. Many of our speaker and partner companies already have travel bans in place which would prohibit their involvement, and we’ve been advised that others are likely to put similar measures in place over the coming weeks.

As a result, and on further monitoring the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have come to the conclusion that a postponement is the best course of action for all parties concerned. This decision has been understood and supported by our clients and partners.

As a small, independent business, that has worked on this edition of the event for over 12 months, this is not a decision we have taken lightly. However, we will use the new dates to create added value for our partners, through the co-location of SynBio Markets 2020 in Amsterdam, alongside World Bio Markets 2020.

Meanwhile, we will also continue to support the industry through our in-depth coverage of the bio-economy, as well as furthering the development of our online content and networking offering, enabling the industry to connect through our online channels.

We will be providing regular updates to the community regarding World Bio Markets 2020 in November, including specific dates and next steps.

Finally, we greatly appreciate the goodwill and support from all of our clients and partners.

Alex, Rosie, Luke, Ryan, Liz and Tom.
